(at first I thought this was linked to just layers in additvie mode..and maybe my mxm.. but it turns out that with SSS in 2.5 multilight color+intensity is adding Sparkly NOISE!)
I was doing some SSS rendering over weekend.. ALL rendered to SL21.xx but It seems that if I have BSDF layers added to my mxm on top of my SSS layer and the new layers ar set to ADDITIVE mode then my render will have alot of sparkles in it even at SL 21 its not clean...
Even wen I do IBL only with emitter turned off..the nise is still there? why.. I tried to balance out the percentages on my new layers with BSDFs in a 40/60 ratio.. but still noise (even though i though in additive mode you don't have to ratio out to add to 100 only in Normal mode-but even then Maxwell should ratio it out right?)
here is the rendered.. at first I though noise was from coating..so i turned coating off but still noise
top one is with new layer set to additive mode color blue (55rougness) with COATING ON on top of BSDF w sss layer
bottom is new 2 more LayerS(to get shiny look that coating was giving) set to additive and COATING OFF
(the left side is only emitter and right side is only IBL)
I dont know if im doing something wrong..or if rendering in maxwell2.5 with SSS w layers set to ADDITIVE is buggy or not good (as renderings are all over SL21)
MXM is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?25jlijanhfhfq4k (just turn off "shiney yella" layer and turn on coating on "midbluruf" layer to get the two variations of materials in above and belwo render)

it looks like those sparkly bouncy balls that kids play with... but not looking like it will ever clean up
(renders where 18hours long @ 640x480)
I am rendering just a SSS with coating render now to see how that looks..but it wont have the Blue shade i was going for in the creatures look.
Does my middle layer (" midbluruf" ) have to be dielectric too? (right now transmittance is black on it) I just wanted the blue layer to add some blue hue to this test character.. but its set to ADDITIVE so transmittance shouldn't matter right?
