Has anyone had an issue with the regular viewport in MW Studio? Wanted to see if anyone else has run across this before posting to the bug forum.

Basically, I've got a mid-poly architectural model (i think around 45k triangles). As I move around in the regular viewport, it gets 'stuck' a lot. One small section (maybe 1/8th of the viewport) will continue to move and rotate while the rest of it won't update as I move around. At some point (right clicking seems to do the trick if it doesn't on it's own) the viewport will return to normal. Meanwhile the Fire viewport is working just fine. I've noticed this behavior in is more common right after I right click and chose "focus to" and pick a point, if I zoom in/out after that I get this buggie behavior. Anyone else see this yet?

I'm on Win7 64bit with plenty of hardware (Intel 980x, Quadro FX3700, 18gb RAM).

Just awesome! i was not expecting this to be released in 2010 but i'm glad i was wrong. :D the little i tested it so far it feels like it's gonna be a big help with improving the overall workflow of Maxwell, making it easier to see what you are doing and how things are done without having to render out 5 gazillion testrenders.

Edit: Adding my first testrender with it. Real quick and easy to setup lighting and materials now!

Great job guys & girls and Merry Christmas to you all! :)

Yessss!!!! It's here!!! This is so awesome!!!
THANK YOU, NL!!! :D
A 'very special' thanks goes for the new SSS, too. It was such a pain for a looong time.

BTW, it was just last Friday I wanted to ask for a feature in a "wish list" thread - something like render region in interactive preview, but found it sort of rude since Interactive preview was not even out yet. And in the end it turned out even better - isolate selection is here. Some wishes are fulfilled really fast.
But the irony is... I can't seem to make it work: when I activate it, I get an empty screen (sky). :? Enyone?

Anyways, Merry Christmas, everyone!!!
And thanks for a wonderful present, NL!!!

I'm extremely pleased with Next Limit and Maxwell! You guys have made me a loyal customer! I've been using Maxwell a lot lately and it's absolutely killer. This just makes it even better.

Congrats on the release and Merry Christmas (or happy holidays just the same).

WOW!

When I bought the upgrade to V2 firstly I didn't expect the neat PS plugin, then a brilliant SU plugin thrown at us and then never did I expect this which breaks the bank!

Seriously this is a VERY generous upgrade from NL!

Damn... are you guys trying to make all of us current Maxwell users out of a job..?
Fire makes it so easy that 'anyone' can do it.

Fire is the first MR D-SLR, MR 2.0 was just an SLR, where you had to know what you were doing.

Thanks, and congrats, this could be a biggie for Next Limit's future :!:

All the best, Kim

yes, i tell all my clients who want renderings from us to just buy maxwell and do it themselves. they thank me a lot for it. and i'm just glad i don't have to do their renderings.

soon only a few polish guys who live with their moms earn a living doing renderings

One thing I'm curious about, but didn't think to test before I uninstalled Maxwell 2.0...Does 2.5 actually complete renders faster than 2.0? or you just see initial results faster? Don't get me wrong, I honestly don't care at all if the final render takes the exact same amount of time because the preview has already saved me HOURS in less than a day of using it, but I am just curious.

I accidentally dragged the preview window up below the menu bar, now it's stuck there with no way to drag it down again... any ideas?

Hi guys,

The new Maxwell Fire preview renderer is a fantastic addition, especially the 3ds Max ActiveShade implementation, thanks a lot Next Limit!

I've got only 2 wishes for a future update:

- GPU support for calculations that are suitable for GPU.

- An option to save the preview as an image file, so you can send intermediate preview renders to clients. [Update: this has been answered (there's a save option in the ActiveShade window), thanks!]

I've also got a question: is there anyone around here who's using an Intel Core I7 970 3.20 GHz Hexa Core CPU? I've currently got an Intel Core i7 quad CPU 2.67 GHz - overclocked to 3.3 GHz - and am wondering if the Hexa Core really makes a noticeable difference in Maxwell rendering speed?

Thanks,

Metin

Workaround using the "RESOURCES BROWSER"[…]

render engines and Maxwell

I'm talking about arch-viz and architecture as tho[…]
