Hi!

I know this has been discusses in the past, but I couldn't find the most updated information on it.

Is this possible:

1. To insert a bunch of geometries from external files, as block instances into a "Scene.3dm", and then apply maxwell materials to the block instances within Scene.3dm?

Or is the only way, to assign materials within the block definitions?

Best regards,.

If you assign materials inside of the block definition, then you can't change them later when it is inserted. However, if you use by-layer or by-parent assignment inside the block, then you can, either by changing the layer material of, or by assigning an explicit material to, the inserted block.
