What about a material snapshot possibility (memorise the active layers, the values...) like the layer snapshot in photoshop
So it will be possible to choose between an "A" or "B" or "C" version of the open mxm.

It's already there in the form of Previews -- store and navigate, even export.

I know for the preview.
But imagine you download a mxm from the mxm gallery and inside there is variation directly selectable.
(llike a light bumber with different light version, or a SSS with different coefficient value).
Just choose A, B or C version.

Or a RAL material (thanks Half-life) with his Velvet, Gloss, Metal, Plastic... variation. I would love it!

It will be easy if we had the possibility to make one upper folder including sub-folders (in case of mutiple layer for a material)
