well I think for the effect a normal map will be perfect, and render much faster than displacement. Your call ;)
Maxwell handles displacement so nice and nothing beats real geometry so for now i'm sticking with displacement ;) no offence.

@Tea Bag
Thank you too!! Indeed, David's alloy is pretty simple if you look at the settings, but it works like a charm!!
If you can recreate that rough alluminium look, that would be very nice, i don't think we have that yet at the MXM gallery..

and the package to test. I am not sure it'will work with another scene, because adjustments were made with the scene showed here.

Do you mind if I give it a try on my Alfa? I think it looks great!!

yep, that finishes it :!: :!:

The model is also very good! Solidworks go! ;)

The only thing i don't like so much are the scratches on the rim and the brake thingy. If you have managed to get scratches on that beautiful rim, i think they will be
in a circular pattern. But don't pay too much attention to my criticism, it's looking fantastic!!

I think you're right there; they're usually get sort of dirty dirty, not scratched.

Excellent Tea_Bag.
For the texture, it's not mine just downloaded from cg-cars :wink:
I'am today at Barcelona until sunday.
Spain is a pure beauty. Love it...and the men working there (as nextlimit) are fabulous. Thanks for this piece of technology.
