Well we all did great if you ask me. The nice thing is that we now have 3 different types of tires!

Thanx David for the pack, i'll try some of your bump maps on my tire model or combine them, see what works best. 8)
I'll share my maps soon, but i don't know if i can upload them to the MXM gallery.. the material uses Hyltoms maps and adjusted settings. I PM him for permission, that seams fair to me.

I have just an idea...
perhaps we can go further and make test for each parties of a car?
The best part should be used to make a great render...

Good morning Tok_tok,
Good morning Max,

Exactly what you said Max, but it's not an obligation to have an highly detailed model.
Just a model that we like. I Know, if you look at some post on cg-cars, you can take a long time to put some materials together.
(sorry guys, I need to improve my english knowledge  ).

To limit the work, we can just do a exterior render or something like that.

I'm sorry but i don't have the time for something like that right now, besides i'm working on my own Mini Cooper now, so i'm gonna have to pass on your offer

@Tea Bag
Is it hard/fun to model in Solid Works? I'm going to have to learn the software next year, because i will be attending at the Design Academy Eindhoven :D

@David - I can try help where I can but like Tok_Tok I'm unable to give my full attention at present! :( The idea you have I think is cool! start a WIP and call its something like Maxwell Community Car Materials or something similar! :) - If you start it you might find users taking interest and chip in!

@Tok_Tok - What do you currently model with? Solidworks is fun to work with it can get tricky when working with surfaces but once you get the hang of it there is no turning back! Nico has done some great projects using Solidworks! Most of my work is modeled using soliworks! or packages with a similar feel like Pro Engineer, Autodesk Inventor etc! (Solidworks comes out on top for me) but at some point id like to try modo401

Well since its next year you'll be attending Design Academy Eindhoven Id suggest you google Solidworks SDK (Student Design Kit) as sometimes you can get a few months trial to use. You'll be ahead of the game then! :D

NURBS Modeling was something I did not know. Then I bought MOI and downloaded Rhino for Mac.
It's amazing how time modeling (for certain models) is reduced to 10 and with precision!
Today, if I have an object to model, I always think of the purpose and what tools are best suited ...
This allows me to focus on the most important part of my work, the quality of the rendering
