I edited my original tile links to reflect the new materials -- new maps and heavily edited to get the grout at the right level in relationship to the tiles... this is a displacement based material and will be somewhat slow to render but I designed it that way to get the individual tiles to offset slightly to catch the light in a more realistic way. These are a "realscale" material and should be applied to flat surfaces that have the UV's normalized for the proper effect.

Best,
Jason.

I have been trying for a very long time to get a specific car paint -- I've got something that I think might work... it's a very different formula from what I've seen elsewhere (based on some ideas I saw on these forums). The idea is you modify the top layer to get different results. If it's good I'll finish the full color line.

I'd like some feedback on how it works for you:

Thanks Tok_Tok for the feedback -- I've got some new stuff. I'm still working on my updated version of the RAL libraries and I've got some tiles. This zip contains the yellow, orange, red, and purple color families. I made several changes and upgrades/corrections to the textures and added one of my own.

It should be a very subtle but more realistic effect.

I appreciate all feedback as these materials are going out as a set eventually:

Now for something different.

For those who have the full-rez Arroway "Textures - Edition 1" set or who are going to get it, I have created a full line of Maxwell materials for the Texture Pack taking full advantage of Maxwell 2 material system and incorporating the scaling and tiling specs from Arroway.

For those who have never experienced how good the Arroway textures really are I highly recommend the texture pack as it is extemely cost effective and will be a real eye opener... and the "sample" Arroway textures that ship with Maxwell are not full-rez.

In order to use this set simply drop the full-rez textures in the appropriate folders and enjoy:

You can purchase the full-rez textures here:

Hello all,

So my quest to update the RAL libraries to version 2 is nearing an end and I have a few complete lines for you to download:

Tiles:

Painted Wall:

These are of course based on the original version 1.x materials made by paperless, which are still available on the MXM gallery:

I discovered 2 days ago that I the colors I was using for the RAL lines does not precisely match the colors here: http://www.ralcolor.com/

Based on that I have removed the link to the posted lines and have re-worked my lines with more precise colors.

I'll be posting newly revised lines in the coming days.

Best,
Jason.

I need some feedback on this library -- based on some samples I put out to Tok_Tok it's not working as I intended and I need to see some sample renders on automobiles to know if it is keeping the color like it should.

The more saturated colors will "blow-out" a bit, that is expected and just the nature of creating a single set of settings for a wide color range like RAL. Where you should see the most success with these is in the lower saturation colors... which happen the be the more common colors on the road.

When you post(or send) the render please let me know the color number as well.

Best,
Jason.

Here's my new V2 RAL Classic Glass set -- my ultimate approach was to try to get all these RAL libraries to be as faithful to the colors as possible since the point is the colors themselves... though some materials naturally have shifts due to the material itself.

I still need feedback on the car paint set...

Best,
Jason.
