Nothing fancy really, Supermicro X8DAi, 2x Xeon X5680's, 24GB Ram, Windows 7. I previously had W5590's in it but after a BIOS update the X5680's worked nicely. The W5590's benched around 2280 @ 4:39. Those chips will go to the render farm. Hardest part was finding a set of X5680s...but was finally able to source some from Provantage.micheloupatrick wrote:Impressive dmeyer! Could you tell us more about the whole machine (motherboard, price, availability of the new Xeons)?

Forgot about that...it's been mentioned many times before, although I did not save my 1.7 benchwell scene to check for noise/clarity comparison.Bubbaloo wrote:Benchmarking and sampling level can't be compared between the two versions. They are not at the same "scale". The only way to compare them is with time and visual noise level.
Next Limit is in the process of providing a new Benchwell for Version 2.Josephus Holt wrote:
So we really need a completely separate v2 benchwell?
