Acropora by Voxelogic deserves a look see. It's a free standing voxel modeler that does some amazing detailed modeling at eye blink speed. It's exports a variety of file types...obj for us Lightwavers. Still in development with lots of new features coming fast. It's a one man show and the creator is a nice guy...although I don't know his name. There is a fully functional demo available and the images below are a few renders from my first experiments with it. It does not however export UV's at this time but he is working on it. Once you see the modeler in action you will understand his difficulty with coding UV mapping. But it's a powerful tool even as it is. Give it a try!

BTW...These were not rendered in Maxwell...I am doing that now!

yes herve..underlying is the same voxel technology

in fact i exported the raw voxel data and imported it into 3dcoat to sculpt it there an refine it..then i quadringulated it in 3dcoat.

give it a try..it's really nice

Very cool yolk!
You might be interested to know Thomas the creator told me he got the idea for the program while working on a project and having to model coral himself...hence the name Acropora, (which is a species of scleractinian coral).

Have fun!
