Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

looks interesting, but u need the right hardware. a bit pricey to me...

the problem is more the right hardware is not here yet.

just when you got used to 64bit computing you got to restrict yourself to 2Gb (max 4 gb with tesla card) of ram for your scenes.(think about multilight!!)

even a 6gb card would not be sufficient if you think what can be done with maxwell right now... in terms of complex archviz anyway... for smaller scenes GPU acceleration is for sure great.

i am still wondering how caustic graphics is doing their thing.. maybe they have a way to offload raytracing without needing to load the entire scene/texture data in ram of the card...

looks FAST!!!

- CPU+GPU usage - will use all cpu's and gpu's available in your network (all pc's that have a multi-gpu-license)
- has bounce control - i don't know why it's still called "unbiased"... but the bounce control is NICE!
- "interactive" scene editing (materials/camera/lights)

the downsides for me for now...

- ram limitation! it's not possible to render bigger resolutions with gpu than the one that fits into the smallest video ram of your system. but you can switch to "cpu-only"-mode to render bigger scenes. i don't know about the speed in cpu only mode, but i think it's still possible to cut the bounces.
- NO SSS for this release
- NO displacement for this release
- NO instances for this release
- No demo version planned

It should be said:
"multi-gpu-render-node license"

yes! you're right!
hopefully video ram will grow quickly ...and NL will implement gpu support for mxw in the near future

If it's interactive, u shouldn't need layerBlending, just turning off/on the lights and it will update automatically.

Its very interesting, lots of renderers now using the GPU power, Mayabe Maxwell should start going that way. :)

Just for faster tweaking in preview this would be a god sent!
