Ho ho f*cking ho.......fingers crossed we can start saying goodbye to green-tax sometime soon, and concentrate on helping Bees etc instead.... :D

Yeah, here in the Netherlands we call them environment terrorists.... sure you need to take care of the environment, but climate change is going on for millions of years already..

Talking about polluting, guys like Al Gore flying all over the world in a private jet telling us to turn down the heater and to not drive our cars, and in the mean while his house consumes energy for a small town??!!?? yeah right...

How do you know this? What is your source of info?

I'm not sure why the idea of not f*cking up the earth is such a contentious idea to some people.

And I'm not sure why you consistently show a tendency to substitute false dichotomy for actual argumentation. In other words: show me where Curt (or anyone else posting in this thread) indicated support for, as you say, 'f*cking up the earth.' You imply he does, so unless it's the case that you're really just more interested in flailing at strawmen, back up your assertion.

And...since you ask, a quick google returns http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/2 ... 18846.html, which links to http://www.thedailygreen.com/environmen ... 02?src=rss, which is itself apparently a rehash of material sourced from factcheck.org. Now, I have no idea how accurate that info is, as I've not personally reviewed Al's energy bills. However, to quote:
The Associated Press reviewed the Gores' energy bills and reported that the family consumed 191,000 kilowatt-hours in 2006. This was considerably more than the amount of electricity used by the typical house in Nashville, about 15,600 kilowatt-hours a year.
This represents a 12:1 ratio, roughly, and the 15,600 KWH number sounds reasonable for the air-conditioning usage in Nashville, judging by a quick review of my own electrical usage. So, if the info is accurate, the question of whether or not Curt used hyperbole in comparing Gore's usage to a small town would depend on whether or not your definition of 'small town' includes towns of eleven or fewer homes.

The article goes on to say that the Gores have since made their house greener, but explicitly specifies that the question of whether or not they actually use less energy now than they did then was not researched.

I think Gore is just a rich dude that found a way to make even more cash very quickly... I call these people opportunists.. well it's a business world after all... nothing to be jealous about... hehe..  we also have football players.. actors.. they don't do much for the cash they get.. and sure they also live in huge houses.. drive ferrari's etc..

In this world, the less you do, the more you make..

I mean we all want to go pee with the big dogs in the tall grass.. hheehe

"And I'm not sure why you consistently show a tendency to substitute false dichotomy for actual argumentation. "

What? You don't even know me and have never had a discussion with me about anything important.

If you want to talk about false dilemmas, then what does Gore's energy consumption have to do with the validity of the theory of human-influenced climate change? It has nothing to do with it. It is just an ad hominem.

And Curt - exactly. There is no reason why those who don't agree with the climate change theory shouldn't still be agreeable to conserving and not polluting. That is my question.

The reason in our country is MONEY.
