This is looking very good already, i like it that the top of the engine is his sixpack. Great idea!
Are you planning on texturing him like the real thing with paint scratches off edges on the model ?
Is it fully rigged also so you can fold it and unfold it ?

Thanks Maximus, I'd like to add paint chipping on the edges,
but don't know how to match the texture to the model edge.
Does anyone know how to do this in Maxwell? As far as the rigging
I'm eventually going to do a transforming QT movie in Cinema,
it would take too long in Maxwell.

Incredible modelling and very nice rendering.

If I may say so, the scratches dont convince me.
They look pretty 2d and rather repetitive too.

There were several scratch packs for brushes and textures floating around this board a while ago.
Perhaps you might want to look into that.

But dont let that pull you down, this is very nice work

Thank you Joris, you are absolutely right, I did a quick filter overlay in photoshop.
I need to learn how to do the scratches and edge wear in Maxwell.
Here's a couple of quick renders combining the robot and car...
