Hi JD,

i am struggling with a problem that was very random so i ignored it, but it is more persistent now..

hdris when enabeled to display in viewport are flipped along the horizon; so sky is down and top is all black.

seems to be linked to unchecking "disable material environment" in the plugin options, as unchecking it made it flip here..

but now it is int the file and i can't get rid of it. (*had to recheck "disable M.E." and restart rhino to fix)

cheers,

Daniel

ps. it would be great to be able to link a hdri channel (with offset scale etc.) to rhinos mat. environment function

You're using Rhino 5, right? It's solid here on 4, but spotty on 5. I think it's probably related to a similar issue that I reported to McNeel a long time ago - texture offset doesn't work in the viewport when rendered shadows is on.

yep.. forgot to mention.. rhino 5 x64!

..i wasn't aware that it was related to rendered shadows, once it breaks it displays wrong in any shademode, but you are right, the initial viewport (the one i rendered) was using rendered shadows.

thnx

Just to be clear, I'm not saying that there is any definite link between the use of rendered shadows and this HDRI environment issue - just that I know of another texture-offset related issue, and that this tends to imply that some low-level aspects of the drawing pipeline are in flux in V5 at this point in time. Understandable, given the depth of the work that Jeff (LaSor) is currently doing with the V5 viewport.
