Since the order in which the Material Layers are stacked has an impact on the final result, I find it would be cool to be able to shift them up or down in the list, like the Rhino Layers.
...or did I get it all wrong ?

Cheers,

[Update] Ok, the problem seems to be that the drag-and-drop is glitchy.
It might come from my config, so here goes :
-Win 7 64 bit (trial version)
-Rhino V5 , 24th of November Beta
-Maxwell and Plug-in version 2.0.5

You should be able to drag a Layer and drop it on the top (Material) node - that will bring it to the top of the stack. If you hold down CTRL when dropping, the layer will be cloned, rather than moved. Let me know if that works, or if there seems to be some bug.

It seems that the drag and drop is tough to initiate.
It could be a problem with my mouse, so I'll try with another one at the office tomorow.

Jeremy,
I tried the drag-and drop of layers on a different system (32 vs 64 bits, XP vs exotic Win 7, desktop vs. laptop,...) and I still have difficulties.
Clicking on the folder icon never works, clicking on the layer name sometimes works, but only if I drag it all the way to the top.

Yes, the top node (the main Material node) is the only valid target for dropping a Layer. Clicking where the icon is won't work for starting a drag/drop; it will just expand/collapse the Layer.
