Now I'm importing Onyxtrees with clipmapped leaves using obj. It comes in fine and looks good in the (rendered) viewport, but when I enter Maxwell_RestoreViewport the texture mapping is all messed up...that's the way it renders it. I also tried dxf, but comes in like obj shows AFTER the command Maxwell_RestoreViewport. I'm uisng RS for the leaves. Any suggestions would be as always appreciated....ughhh, this texture mapping with Rhino/Maxwell is going to be my downfall
p.s. I emailed you an example...this may have been with the dxf import (which I prefer).

I emailed you back - I need the textures to be able to tell you anything concrete. I need to ask though, why would you want to use RS for leaves? The UVs are going to be baked into those leaves by the app you're exporting from; when you give them your own texture-mapping (i.e. when you use RS), you're throwing away those baked-in UVs.

That's evidence that I still don't know what I'm doing...but I figure if I keep at it, one of these days it will stick ".... Got to remember, RS image = 1mx1m, RS image = 1mx1m.....
It does work fine as long as I keep RS disabled with OBJ (dxf does not seem to work, Onyxtree does not carry the uv info over with dxf, but that is not a big deal, for some reason OBJ brings the object in sideways...must think I'm working in C4D.
