Hy guys,
How much time....now is coming the moment for me to try Maxwell2.0:)!!!

but I'm very confusing
The idea is to conserve in my computer my tradicional maxwell 1.8.3.0 in my Rhinojewell.
I want also try, before buy it, maxwell 2.0 for comparing the speeds ... and today I downloaded the trial version and now I have in the desktop all the icons of Maxwell Studio 2.0 (6 icons ...I don't see now the icons of Maxwell 1.7?!?Where is the old Maxwell Studio?) and it works well I think

...but I always work from rhino(or rhinojewell) with plugin!!!!I don't want work with Studio

I think I have installed the plugin "Maxwell for Rhino 2 (64)" but when I unzip the file I see "Maxwell for rhino(64) Installer" (without 2) and I install (I don't see where) but I don't understand if I have "really" installed Maxwell for Rhino2 plugin...Where is it?

....my tradicional maxwell 1.8.3.0 continue in my Rhinojewell

Where is advise to have Maxwell for Rhino 2.0
I have 3 Rhino! In which Rhino Maxwell would give me better results:
-in Rhinojewell 5.0.9 with the posibility to change at Maxwell 1.8.3.0 ?
-in Rhinoceros 4.0 sr6?
-in Rhinoceros 5.0 64 bits safe mode(?)-beta (?) download today?

Thankyou
rober

...or the obligate way is:

1-to produce the scene in Rhino and render with the 1.8.3.0 plugin
2-for comparative ...to import the same scene in Maxwell Studio 2.0 and render?

Hi Rober,

As the About window shows, you still have the 1.8.3 plugin installed.
It is possible to have Maxwell Render/Studio/MXED 1.7.1 and 2.0.1 installed, but it is not possible to have Maxwell for Rhino 1.8.3 and 2.0.5 installed. If you want to switch between 1.8.3 and 2.0.5 plugins, you have to uninstall one and install the other. The 1.8.3 plugin will always start Maxwell 1.7.1 and the 2.0.5 plugin will always start Maxwell 2.0
Were you actually able to run the plugin's installer? The 64 bit plugin requires Rhino 5 x64 to be installed first.
....my tradicional maxwell 1.8.3.0 continue in my Rhinojewell
Yes, it looks like that. For Rhino 4 or Rhino 5 x86, you need to use the Maxwell for Rhino x86 installer - the x64 installer is only for Rhino 5 x64.
If you have both Rhino 4.0 SR6 and Rhino 5 x64, then you need to download and install both Maxwell for Rhino x86 and Maxwell for Rhino x64. As I said above, it is not possible to have both the 1.8.3 and 2.0.5 plugins installed at the same time, so make sure before you install 2.0.5 that you have saved a copy of your 1.8.3 plugin installer so that you can go back if you want to. If you no longer have the 1.8.3 installer, then I think you will have to contact Next Limit sales and they will send you a download link.

Just let me know if this is helpful or not - I am not sure that I have understood your questions.

It's posible that I don't understand very well
I install MW2 like said the italian forum in a new folder Maxwell2

"...Were you actually able to run the plugin's installer? The 64 bit plugin requires Rhino 5 x64 to be installed first."

I saw any windows (no clear) that confunding me:

"I think I have installed the plugin "Maxwell for Rhino 2 (64)" but when I unzip the file I see "Maxwell for rhino(64) Installer" (without 2) and I install (I don't see where) but I don't understand if I have "really" installed Maxwell for Rhino2 plugin...Where is it?"

the situation is now:

1-In rhinojewell I can run the 1.8.3.0 plugin and MW 1.7.1(64) produce a render like always
2-In the desktop I have the Maxwell 2 icons and "I think"(I am incapable to use it :? ) Maxwell Studio 2.0 works also(?!)

Can I produce a comparative with sense like I said in the second email?

"1-to produce the scene in Rhino and render with the 1.8.3.0 plugin
2-for comparative ...to import the same scene in Maxwell Studio 2.0 and render?"

Or the best performance is to have Maxwell2 (64)in Rhino 5x64 11nov that I have?
Or......!???

Or I have ....:

"...to switch between 1.8.3 and 2.0.5 plugins, you have to uninstall one and install the other"

My target is to valuate exactly the news improvements of speed of MW2

thankyou

I am having a hard time understanding exactly what you have installed, so I will just try to clarify what is possible.

Maxwell Render/Studio/MXED
  • - it is possible to have Maxwell 1.7 and Maxwell 2.0 installed at the same time

Maxwell for Rhino plugin

There are four plugin installers to be aware of:
  • 1. Maxwell for Rhino 1.8.3 (x86) - this always renders with Maxwell 1.7
    2. Maxwell for Rhino 1.8.3 (x64) - this always renders with Maxwell 1.7
    3. Maxwell for Rhino 2.0.5 (x86) - this always renders with Maxwell 2.0
    4. Maxwell for Rhino 2.0.5 (x64) - this always renders with Maxwell 2.0
For Rhino 4 and Rhino 5 x86, you may use:
  • - Maxwell for Rhino 1.8.3 (x86)
    - Maxwell for Rhino 2.0.5 (x86)
For Rhino 5 x64, you may use:
  • - Maxwell for Rhino 1.8.3 (x64)
    - Maxwell for Rhino 2.0.5 (x64)

So, for example, if you have both Rhino 4 and Rhino 5 x64 installed, you could:
  • - install Maxwell for Rhino 1.8.3 (x86), since this works with Rhino 4
    - install Maxwell for Rhino 2.0.5 (x64), since this works with Rhino 5 x64
In this case, when you render from Rhino 4, you are using Maxwell for Rhino 1.8.3 (x86), which will start Maxwell 1.7; when you render from Rhino 5 x64, you are using Maxwell for Rhino 2.0.5 (x64), which will start Maxwell 2.0.

Does this help to answer your question?

Escuse me for my english.. :(
I am near the solution ...I obtein now in Rhino 5 (64) the correct plugin
Maxwell for Rhino 2.0.5 (x64), and the render start with Mw2 interface :D !

But the last problem is:

the Maxwell logo is in the center of the image...

I remember in the past it was a problem of license
1-Is my license of Mw1.7 good?
2-Where is a new license(for trial versions I think)
3- What do I have to do with this license...I don't remember
Thankyou

1 - it's good for using with 1.7
2 - there is no license for trial versions - you just get a watermark on the image
3 - if you buy Maxwell 2.0, then you will get a new license file, and that would go in your Maxwell 2 folder
