The box is checked, but no output. The render channel writes fine, but not the Object ID.
I just tried a new test file and it's working fine. I think the times it fails, the render console log says "WARNING file Bla bla bla not written" and repeats every few seconds. It could be the machine needs to be rebooted after a while (VISTA)?

Obviously, it's nothing common based on your experience. That's the main reason I posted this.

I will play with it some more and see if I can figure it out.

Thanks JD

Well, if it helps to have more context, to the plugin, the Object ID channel is just a flag that gets turned on in the MXS - if you are getting an indication that Maxwell is trying to render it, then that would rule out a directly plugin-related issue. Next, I'd look at the form of the output name and folder - are they simple names, or are they more creative? When it fails, what does the mxs output path look like vs. the image output path? Also, are we talking about Maxwell 2.0?

It was 2.0 and today also 2.01 patch. I am trying to recreate the problem, but it keeps working just fine
I am noticing that even though I have assigned a file path, some files are getting written one folder back. I think there is a change when I select TIF format. Yes, the names are long : ex: SSPU_p4_A1_black_noscreen_v1.tif

That style of filename should be fine - more than length, I would be concerned about the use of punctuation, but underscores with no spaces should always be a good strategy. I've tried some more here to duplicate it with no luck so far, so just let me know if you find any recognizable pattern that I can use to diagnose the issue.
