With the new material-layer-system its so nice to create materials with dirt or some green covering in all the edges and corners of an object.

Hi Max

I render our an Ambient Occlusion Map.(Dirt Map) That is my Opacity-map (inrverted) and my Dirt-map (green coloured).
Than frontal mapped in Cinema4D and exported to maxwell studio.In mxst I added an other dirt-layer and the basic stone material + specular layer.
I also used this scene as preview so I save a lot of time because the render-result is the same like in the preview.
That´s it.So you can control the dirt very well.;)

Haha, no, quite the opposite. I did this at home on my AMD dual core 2.2 Ghz Win32 3 Gb! With IBL it clears very fast, but throw an emitter in there, and it will never clear. Render time approx. 12 hours (overnight).

was that big originally and still rendered in only 17 min?
