Here's one more update. I guess I won't make it look any better.
This time it's full-volume water and physical sky.
The first one is slightly edited 'wizzard water'; the second one - full .ior + dispersion.
I'm sure Tom knows how I did it

But there is no triangles inside this vase volume to attach material to it. In first immpresion I bet on "doubled edges" something like discontuity in mesh, but Master Jedi od mxm's said

so doubled vertex and space gap in smoothing is wrong path ,

there must be some special buttons in tom's version of maxwell , e.g. "make super scratch in dielectrics!"

or "make themostawesomeasskickingfotoreallrenderings" like this guy from PURE has in his golden version.

edit: m-Que - tom knew this two years ago, but You didn,t ask ;) as I made this mistake with one layer specular saturated plastic.

sorry Bubbaloo ! 1.7.1 of course !!
 Actually, we are at 2.0.1 now.

It's cool you're an obedient young Jedi. :D

You've meant this? (a 25 min ML render)

No fakes here and all are real caustics, 1 pass, no post.

As a test of Maxwell 2.0 in Windows 7 i started six Maxwell renderings and let them render at the same time during the night to see if anything would happen, and heh.. to my surprise both Maxwell 2.0 and Windows 7 performs very well together. I am almost impressed by this. :)
Not only are most of the 6 renderings relatively clean but Windows remains very responsive and fully usable all the time. The process prority management in Windows 7 rocks! :)
I could probably launch a demanding fps game at the same time and the renderings would still be processed in the background.

Tom, there is no refraction in pool...
i tried to simulate your broken vase material - once with negative displacement map (one pixel wide), and another time with clipmap also 1 pixel wide (broken lines) - is your solution similar? :)

Also my table - it is not such an easy as you think. Maybe it is not clear just from two photos, but some parts of texture are changing different in different angles - seems like there is milions of particles, that have different normal direction and behave like some metalic parts with kind of roughness. Some parts looks brighter in 90 deg. angle then 0 deg. and some oposit way - and i am talking just about horizontal changes. It also seems like material is not only camera angle dependent, but also light angle dependent - think like you are moving light around test sphere without movin camera and texture is changing.

Max - nice material, and sculpture
