Rhino Plug-in + Online Material Library?

Rhino Plug-in + Online Material Library?#312143

JD-

Didn't see this on the forum...can the Nextlimit online material library be accessed through the Rhino plug-in? Can't seem to login to the gallery.

Yep, you can find it @ Scene Manager > Materials > right click > MXM Gallery.

I'm able to connect and it appears to download, but it only installed an MXM Gallery folder but no mxm.

Did you try a different mxm? That might happen if the mxm is corrupt or unable to be unzipped.

Tried a different mxm but no luck...strange thing is that I'm able to download from the gallery while in Studio, but not in Rhino...is it Vista (which is easy to dislike) or something else?

I know I've run across mxms that failed a couple of times, but I'm unable to find one right now - could you tell me which ones you've tried? Also, if you look in the mxm browser, in the mxm folders pulldown, do you see a folder that was added by the plugin: Users/[username]/Documents/Maxwell/mxmgallery? Are there any mxm files in it?

Checked the mxmgallery folder and there is nothing in it.

I tried downloading kurts' "curtains" mxm and it shows it importing and that it's opening the zip file, but nothing more. What I observe is that the Gallery search window automatically disappears once it says its unzipping the file and I have to restart it if I want to download another mxm...however, in Studio, that doesn't happen, I'm able to successfully download the same mxm and the gallery search window stays open and the mxm appears in the material editor.

Yes, due to the way it works, you can only download one mxm per 'session'. I tried downloading that mxm here and it's working, so I'm not yet sure what would be the problem. To check further, open your temp folder ( Users/[username]/AppData/Local/Temp ) and look for the mxmgallery folder. This is where mxed should be downloading to - the plugin then fixes paths in the downloaded mxm and copies it and its textures to Users/[username]/Documents/Maxwell/mxmgallery.
