The title says it all: on Maya 2009 and 2010 OS X, the "MXM Gallery" and "Browse Library" buttons have no effect (nothing is happening when I click on them).
Anyone else experiencing this problem?

yes, unfortunately exactly the same here (Maya 2010 on Snow Leopard) - MXM Gallery and Browse Library not working... (nothing happens when I click on the buttons)

I just saw that cgbeige is experiencing the same problem too.

In my case that's on Mac OS X 10.5.8.

There is a problem launching MXED from the Maya and LW plug-ins on OSX, it will be fixed in the next update.
