Work is slow so I started modeling my guitar and hopefully some other equipment.

Beautiful!!!

Really nice modeling-but a suggestion from a guitar player- and a former Strat owner :)..... more winds on the tuning heads!

What mat did you use for your clay renders? It looks really good- I like the darkened areas.... very cool!

Thanks, caryjames
This Strat has locking tuners, you thread the string, pull tight, tighten the knurled locks (in back of head) and tune-up.
So there isn't much excess wind on the tuners. Modeled in Cinema, no texture just AO.

Thanks Phil- I never had locking tuners before! :)

I had a '62 reissue strat since I started playing long ago- I sold it a couple of years ago but always loved that guitar!

Now all you need is a cable and an amp :)

The screw instances in the top handle (tuning heads) should be turned a bit. The first picture shows the screws are aligned exactly the same way. vary it a bit, please!

Thanks macray and hervé, those screwheads should have been slotted,

Very nice job! But, it's a common mistake adding mild roughness to shiny metal parts. They should be truly specular with normal/bump maps for subtle moderate impurities, not an overall micro roughness. It turns them into plastics having metallic paint. ;)

Best advice I've heard for a long time! THANKS Tom!!!

Phil

Awesome job mate! The renders look stunning!! The grain of the timber I can feel it!

So, is this a known issue?
