Hi all,

I've currently graduated from University and in the last month I've struck lucky to get 2 job offers. These two jobs are completely different from each other! and really
want an outside opinion about working within these industries! This would be really helpful!

Company One (http://www.zeta-pdm.com)
Company Two (http://www.alitex.co.uk)

I agree with you Nico! It seems very interesting! Zeta-pdm pays £3000 less a year compared to alitex! It makes decision making even worse as in one hand you have a company like zeta that pays less but you could prove to benefit in the long run with the experience obtained and on the other hand you have a very well established company like alitex that pays more but the experience might not be as interesting or beneficial? I like to keep an open mind and think its not all about the money and maybe its more about the experience gained! Is it wise though to be open minded in today's economy!?

Well, my advice would be invest now and collect later.
Also I'm sure it's better for your C.V. as well ;-)

Btw, it's always good to be open minded, I would say specially in these times, people notice (future employers I mean)

Remember, money isn't always what makes the job a good job....enjoying it is definitely more important. My initial idea in the industry was to make money, but you'll get that eventually and if you do what is more enjoyable...you'll stick to what's more enjoyable and earn that extra dough in the end.

Also, look into what company has been around longer...what companies industry seems to be booming and more stable...etc....Not just money or interesting subject matter.

@Nico - 'Invest now collect later' I like that! Yes Zeta will def be better for my CV! Thanks for the insight!
@JCAddy - Its true an enjoyable job is important! - As Zeta is closely to the oil market they seem to be booming in business employing me and another is part of them expanding! Alitex has been around since 1952 and its a family business but not sure about their business booming or not as I don't have much insight into the greenhouses and conservatories market! :? The advise you guys have given will def help with my final decision! Thanks :D

Other things to consider too:

Zeta - Designing components for the oil industry using Autodesk Inventor and no rendering - basically hardcore engineering :) (Permanent contract)
Alitex - Designing new greenhouses etc Using Solidworks and providing rendering presentations for clients! :) (6-9 months contract possibly permanent after that time)

The Zeta choice sounds like the better of the two if you're thinking about your future. The other company might be more relaxed compared to Zeta but you will never know for how long it will last, if at all.. ultimately the decision is yours to make what you feel is the best. Whichever path you pick, i wish you all the best of luck and also congratulations to the job(s). They picked a good person. :)
