I had a slow day today so i played around a bit with 302 and some of my studioprops.. here's what i managed to get so far.
Rendertimes vary between 20 minutes to 2,5 hours but then again i have no clue what settings i should use so i just play with the values and hope for the best.

Hey Max,

its pretty easy messing with the values in modo, since you can use the preview window in the render UI.
These shots look nice, eventhough the look of modo DOF before it smooths out makes my stomach turn around

I remember running some DOF tests in modo and in order to get nice looking DOF I had files rendering for very long when using higher resolutions. Lets say 55 minutes with 2 spheres using displacement, SSS and DOF at 2k res.

It will be very interesting to test the new engine in 401.

Yes you're right Joris, i use that preview window but i still have no clue what each setting means so i just end up shooting from the hip and hope i hit the target. Most of the time it fails. Bad strategy..
The dof as you said looks weird, i agree it does. Still trying to figure that part out.....
I had rendertimes up to 4h 15min on one of the shots i rendered at 1600x1200 with dof in Modo. It would probably have rendered faster with Maxwell.
401 is just around the corner now, it's probably gonna rock! can't wait to see what people will create with it. Some amazing stuff will soon fill the Luxology gallery.

I ran some more tests while my internet was offline tonight.

Bad interpolation of samples and not enough rays.

To clear that up max just increase the IRR rays a bit higher and increase the values channel from 1 to something higher until its cleared up. Easy to fix problem
