hi !

i am searching the mathematical function based on the standard sine, which changes the form from the normal swinging curve to this profile, oscillating between 1 and -1 but with harder curves and straight parts.

thanks for that link.

i got an other input that also uses this approach, the problem that remains is that the negative areas always have the same length as the positive areas. i need some sort of smaller beveled gap so it looks like constructed.

i helped myself by modeling those profiles with a curve, but the mathematic approach would still be interesting !

with two harmonics the result can look pretty convincing.
