Hello,

In the Scene Manager, under the 'Material Defaults' section, you can specify the 'Preview SL' limit. Regardless of what number I set this to, the material preview always goes up to SL 8. So it seems when I do mat preview, this number is being ignored.

As with all the settings in that section ('Material Defaults'), that just sets the preview limit for new materials; so if you set it to 5, then any material created after that would have 5 set in its preview limit. It isn't meant to have any effect on already-existing materials.
