magazines are killing me. either take them out or put more of them in......

i always have trouble getting a nice even spread of light in coves with just the right amount of highlight.... i think those are almost there. :)

above all the quality of light coming through those windows is freaking beautiful !

thanks a lot to all!
Thanks about the magazines rusteberg. i will add a few

night view version.
the curtain's material is wrong and the spots have a wrong photometry.
they should be AR111 opening 12 degree.

the renderings are superb! (but I'm not a great fan of the retro 80ies design style... :-))

Fantastic, daros. You're the pride of the Maxwell Comunity :D
There's just one thing that spoils the picture - it's that chair on the right; why is it standing straight towards the bookshelves not towards the lounge like the others?
Anyways, it definitely has nothing to do with the render quality. Great job!

How are you modeling/rendering the cove lights and down lights? I do alot of renderings similar to your night shot, no natural light, alot of cove lights and down lights, warm hot spots, etc. I can't come close to this quality though. Check out this rendering in which I tried a very similar cove light.

I would love to see how you model the lights and the emitter settings you use. Plus some instructions on how SSS helps the lighting would be also be swell. Thanks for anything you can provide. Cheers

looks like there is more noise in the night shot. or at least the noise touchup is more noticable? looking at the curtains, brass platings and shelf back of book case...

So, is this a known issue?
