personally i have never sold software i bought to anyone later on... asfaik it depends a lot on the license agreement that you agreed upon, by installing the stuff.. it's different from company to company.
Some are very picky and only allow to run it under the initial license holder..

You will have to transfer ownership of each program (according to each company's rules) to the person that buys the computer.
Otherwise they will not own the programs nor could they upgrade them.
...Dude...WTF ?

Well, I think it is illegal to run a software if you don't have it licensed to you. If it is licensed to someone else you are not allowed to use it. I don't think it is illegal to sell your PC with software installed; using it without license is.

Exactly, so selling it isn't technically illegal. If they choose to use it then that's their call. If they know the score then it's up to them.

WTF.

Careful, Will. You never know who's gonna buy your PC 'on the other side' on eBay. Selling a PC 'as is' - with all the software installed on it etc. leaves all your private data unsafe, even when deleted. So. it's strongly recommended to wipe or kill your hard disc - this'll also solve the software issue. :)

Another method i can recommend to erase your hdd is to pick apart a old trashed hdd you got at home, grab the powerful magnets from it and move those over the hdd you wanna erase a few times. :)

The magnet is the block of metal seated below the coppercoil. I use these as freezerdoor magnets at home, once you stick them to the door you have to fight to pull them off again hehe

So then no one would want to buy it.

Will, you about to do a Reggie Perrin?

If you're getting off the 3D merry-go-round you might want to investigate kosher ways of transferring your licenses to third parties, some companies do allow for this. :)
I doubt there's very much 'added value' from a buyers perspective in having a bunch of stuff pre-installed.......most people would want to re-format their drives at some point, whereby any 'added value' would be lost.

And if you're staying in the game, do you really want someone else with a mirror of all your SW -and possible update probs for you- further down the line?

Just a thought.......my two cents..........best of luck amigo. :D
