1.- General Questions
Q.- I purchased fryrender before fryrender RT was released. Am I entitled to a free upgrade?
A.- Yes, you are. That is what we promised all along the way.
Note that this is only applicable to people who purchased fryrender BEFORE fryrender RT was released. Since the very moment fryrender RT is released, new customers will have to choose whether they want to buy fryrender or fryrender RT, as they are different products with different prices.
Fryrender RT has not been released yet, but by the look of that preview you better be quickThe other question - if I would buy Fryrender now, would I get RT for free? I don't understand the FAQ. Is fryrender RT released?
From what I understand RC5 is the real time engine, fryrender RT is the authoring tool to produce content for the RC5 engine and RC5player is a player that can be freely downloaded by anyone who wants to view a RC5 file.is RC5 and Fryrender RT the some product?
my thoughts exactly, it seems to me every new feature they develop in branded as a new product. fryrender SWAP is a good example. WTFIt seems a bit overly complicated with 3 or 4 programs/utilities involved
So, if I get it right - you actually render a 'scene', NOT the 'image' in Fry, and then can explore/move around it using the other tool.simmsimaging wrote:It seems a bit overly complicated with 3 or 4 programs/utilities involved, but I think it's misleading to think of it as "realtime" in terms of reflections etc. From what Chema is saying *all* lighting and materials are in there, but they are calculated in advance in Fry, and then the scene file is loaded up and you can move around it in realtime. It's not so much a real time render engine as it is a realtime animation tool.
Interesting, but it's not quite what I think some people think it is.
