My latest project for my job was done with mental ray...
It required a 2400 frame animation, and the boss didn't want to use a render farm. So their was definitely a compromise in quality...

This one I made in my spare time, with an emphasis on sunlight caustics through two dispersion enabled materials. Caustics look much better with dispersion enabled. Unfortunately, there are some colored flies that are showing up at higher S.L. This made it to around S.L. 21 and the higher it got, the more flies showed up. The sunlight is coming through a small window on the opposite wall (glass removed).
