If you go through the MS download you get everything without any problems. I've done it for two machines now. Scroll down to the bottom and pick your flavor. You get a serial number and the download link:

I am so tempted to install this thing but I only have one computer that I use at home and don't want to risk anything going wrong. I also don't want to have to re install XP when this expires.

I'll wait till it's final or something, sounds good so far. I hope you compare it to the awesome XP though, and not just as a step-up from Vista.

Why not dual-boot? I use Vista Boot Pro http://www.vistabootpro.org/. I'm using it and booting XP, Vista and Win7. Though to tell the truth I've been using Win7 almost exclusively and thinking about yanking Vista for the disk space.

Vista Boot is butt simple to use. The only thing is if you do do (?) it is that there are three files that have to be in the root of all installations (ntldr, NTDETECT.COM and boot.ini) otherwise it doesn't "see" XP.

Two questions for the early adopters here :)

1. How long does this "free" version last ? Do they give it a two month expiration or something ?

2. How many Gb is it taking on the disk when you first install ?

1. The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows
will notify you two weeks before the bi-hourly shutdowns start. To avoid interruption, you’ll need to install a non-expired version of Windows before March 1, 2010
2. Not to sure
