I'm using 2 planes, hidden to camera, GI, etc, with clip maps in front of the chrome toy sculpture. It's not done cooking, but you can see the clip maps (left and right sides) aren't too strong.....

I've got the gamma down quite low....

Should I adjust lighting to hit the clip maps, essentially illuminating them up some? And then drop down the lighting on the main scupture?

(the effect I'm looking for is a mirrored surface that I can clearly see the clip map reflections.) Right now it's not quite there.....

Any suggestions or advice appreciated
thanks in advance

you need some direct illumination on the clip mapped surface.
also turn off reflected caustics as they serve no visual purpose here.
also the shadow looks unusually dark....is this post ?

I had the ND on to 3, turned it up to 100, which should be close
to what a mirror produces. This helped alot
I think I'll try some direct illumination too...

I'll post a better pic
different model, but you can see the reflections are more mirror like, and the clip maps are seen better....
