ivox,

Thanks again for putting this together! I received my Pixplant license and am busy learning the ropes.

Given your success in this recent venture, is there any other software that we can pull together resources on?

good to hear Sandy.

f.tony.torres .... Modo 401 would be nice.

Seriously though, ..I think that with any of the smaller developers could be possible canidates for a number of reasons.
That HDR program from Smeggy would be great !

1. If there's a solid and sustained interest in the deal/software, ..then a wave of free advertisement.
2. A high percentage of new clients that would of most likely not have become one.
3. Full retail sales eventually happen as a direct result of the offer. Basically, people who either didn't or couldn't purchase during the offer or simply become aware of the application/thread/offer after the fact eventually make a purchase.
4. Increased user base equates to more sales for subsequent version releases.

All pretty obvious, ..but all true.
I'm sure there's more reasons, .. but I'm tapped. lol.

Anyway .. what's not to love about it ? :)

FYI: With the Pix Plant deal -- including the late comers exceptions to the cap, .. I think we did around 25 copies. Pretty good -- me thinks.

I think the community here is particularly suited for this kind of promotion also for two reasons:
  • People here know each other. When someone makes a recommendation towards a software or service provider, this carries much more credibility than say some random online review or the testimonials on the company's website.

People here buy software, rather than pirate it.

I was thinking about this program:

http://www.panoguide.com/

You can create 360-deg. qtvr files. I think this should be a feature in Maxwell 2.0. There are a couple of other programs that generate panoramic images (Vue and Piranesi).

Just think about the possibilities! Not only would you be able to take advantage of all the features that Maxwell has to offer, but you could add the ability to change your camera angle if the view is not to your liking!. No other renderer could touch it. You could simply place your 'camera' in a room or site, then like multi-light change the final image. I think I'm going to place this in the wishlist forum ...

:D

Okay okay ... bring your suggestions here. Should people start to express a reasonably high interest in any one given app -- I say why not give it a try ? ...this is crazy. :P
