you can try to use texture filtering, it helped me a bit in such case.. Or you'll have to make the clipmap's circle a bit wider (if you want to see the sides)..
Found a problem:
There was some grey ring left from selection in PS. As a result Maxwell was trying to connect height values on a very small spot. You can see the ring on the bottom of the render.

Anyway, turns out that displacement/clip combination is very sensitive and tricky stuff.
