This might sound like a strange thing to request and i kinda admit it is but wouldn't it still be smart to utilize the free SDK Apple offers to developers and then convert some apps like Tom's excellent DOF Cue Tool and also some other reference material from the THINK! site so that Maxwell users with iPod's or iPhone's can use these nice tools and helpful referencematerials on their devices. And please make them free of charge if possible.

What do you guys think about this ?

I smash iPhones like roaches.

I can't stand em. I can't stand the people with them. They're evil little devices that innocently package themselves as ultratechno life improving micro-engineering that's harmless and cute. It's not cute. People think devices like this expand and simultaneously simplify their life and on the surface it appears to do just that. What it mostly does is expand your life into an amalgam of newly created pseudo-productivity. In life you can basically do one of two things at any moment. You can either take a step towards yourself or take a step away from yourself. This kind of tech can be subversive in that it perpetually keeps you from ever identifying fom any true sense of self because it creates the illusion that without this 'extension' .. you would be less than you are should you be without it.

The caveat here is that it's not impossible to extract quality usage from the technology of iPhones and the like, ..but my fear is that most people are ignorantly seduced into expanding their life into further areas of extraneous activity that amounts to substantial nothingness -- a pseudo-productivity. Which, ..in my opinion is one very large step away from the self.

Careful what you adopt as religion and religion it has become, ie., technology in general. The un-funny thing is that people don't know they're adopting anything.

Whoops! heh, i guess this was a bad idea to post a request like this. I'm sorry guys. The device and the tech inside it is pretty good but perhaps not the religious hype that surrounds the iBrick.

Hervé: Nope i don't have a iPhone. A Aiwa Walkman now that thing must have been huge back in the 70's hehe ..i got to borrow my older sisters Walkman when i were a kid in the 80's a few times, that was fun while it lasted.

No apologies Max .. It was just a rant. No one can deny that technology is an obvious part our present and future, but I'm just saying that as we rush forward with our blind acceptances there are pitfalls. Allowing something to gain the status of a new body part really ought to be tempered with the wisdom of experience. IM [not so] HO.

The best thing about this thread is that you coined the term iBrick ----- and that is priceless. LMAO. I would love that to go global/viral. hehe ..

Are the Apple fans calling it "a new bodypart" ? that would be silly even for them.. i mean sure i also got an iPod but it's as far from a bodypart as anything can be, it's just a device for music playback and other stuff. It's not an extension of my mind or body.

ivox3 - when I log into my machine with VNC or Putty for the iPhone to check on a render, it's more than just a cool-looking device. Ditto for when my mom calls with her daily "I've lost my email" problems and I can VNC into her Mac while still on the phone with her, it's more than just a shiny piece of trendy garbage. I hate useless fads like most people but this is a great tool.
