Here's a light fixture I needed to model for a project at work. Thanks goes to Maximus3D for the great metal material!

Looks pretty good Brian, but for some reason the glass shade feels really flat to me. It's almost like the ND values are off or something- not sure what it is.

Here's the final version of this never-ending project. I have posted other versions in my gallery's first page. On this one, I had time to use displacement for the siding and trees with SSS leaves. I'm fairly happy with it, although I don't like the grass planes in the foreground. Hope to hear your comments.

Bubbaloo,
Amazing!
only comments are the black line between siding and shingles (i assume from displacement on siding) and the shingles seem very flat/lambert.
but all around it looks amazing.

Hi Bubbaloo,

You´re last image looks fantastic. The grass indeed, looks a little artificial.

Looking for some inspiration I found this page of a colleague. http://www.trazar.nl/forms/portfolio.html?catid=16
In picture 1 till 5 you see very realistic grass and I´m very curious how these guys did this. Looks like it´s post-processed with Photoshop or Piramesi.

Thanks, Darren and Louis!

I hate photoshopping grass. I like to render everything... I have a new version with better (hopefully) grass rendering now.

Very nice work Bubba :)

Eager to see it.

A grass texture (which is taken on a golfcourse aligned to the horizon)
with a frontal-mapping would also do a great job in your rendering.

Those stone walls could roar with displacement. :)

Thanks for the suggestions zampano and Tom. I had one rendering last night with new grass and displacement for the stone, but as luck would have it, somehow I deleted some window frames....

So I am going to try to resolve some issues, take everyones good advice and re-render (again). I should have something later today or probably tomorrow. Thanks again for all of the helpful critiques.

Ok, here is a new render. Added displacement to the stone texture.
Got rid of the crappy grass and used some modelled grass, instanced. Deleted the blinds in the windows.
Fixed the floating bushes. Heavy adjustments in PS.
Tell me what you think. Is it an improvement?
Rendered at 10,000 px resolution overnight.
