Thanks, Max!
Ok, check this out, when I resumed the render on Wednesday, December 24th at noon, the S.L. was already at 23.50 S.L. It rendered from then until this morning December 29th at 8:00 and only gained 1 S.L. :!: :!:

Anyway, I'm done rendering this until I add more "stuff". Coming soon...

yes, impressive realism. :!:

is it me or the glass seems to float above the table a little bit?

Well, I think,
1) The high attenuation of glass makes it look like plastic. It also needs a subtle tint.
2) The jack tip looks flat both about the model and material. The isolation segments should be more remarkable and their specularity should be different than the metal parts.
3) Green plastic of the jack looks very smooth and shiny. I think it needs a bump.
4) Nd of specular BSDFs looks equal or greater than 3. I'd suggest no more than 2.
5) Parallel projection (high focal length) kills the expected perspective.

Thanks for the great tips. I will tweak things.

Can you elaborate on this:
The high attenuation of glass makes it look like plastic.

It is wizard glass (high grade) with dispersion activated. Can you recommend one of the ior's in the database for this kind of glass?

Try Trans=226,217,197 and Atten=48mm

Glass is definitely better. Btw, you don't have to use dispersion as it has a very minor -or nearly no- effect in this setup.

Thanks for the help. I like to enable dispersion in my personal renders (never for my arch vis stuff). These are the renders where my goal is photorealism and rendertime is not a factor (rendering during the nights). After all, you can't disable dispersion in photos, right?
