Say that I have a farm that isn't running all the time and I use the wake on LAN feature to wake up 20 computers which were shut down. Would I need to log into all of them in order to use Maxwell? I already have Backburner running as a service so that isn't a problem.
What about placing a shortcut on the start up? Anytime you reboot maxwell will be ready on all slaves.

At the moment you have to log in on each node. We have a cmd feature that will make your life a little bit easier.

If maxwell community needs that option I think we can make a single click button in a future release.

Update 15th March '08

- We are working on the Global shut-down / reboot feature. I believe in about 1 week will be ready.
- We have already added an auto-death detect. We call it Energy Saving since it can dramatically reduce your electricity bill - especially if you have a big farm. There is an override option also.

Here is a Refamo v2.02 Screenshot

A few questions:
1. Does this work on Windows Vista 64 bit?
2. Can you add a feature to control in real time cpu core "set affinity"?

We have a 5 computer farm, but sometimes there are cad workers on these nodes, and I would like to be able to control the cpu cores remotely.

Thanks!

Yes. If you experiencing any problems please contact support@ixor3d.com

Nice idea and suggestion. In order to change the "affinity" you need to know which process you want to change. We can add a feature that allow you to change the affinity of a process without interfere with the user. We will look further for a "low priority option" too.

very nice andronikos:-)

is it possible to also juts restart the client softweare, not restarting the whole machine?

so when i have a problem with one maxwell serveri can only restart the mxcl-server without rebooting the machine. many maxwell problems need only a restart of the app, not of the whole system.

if yes i guess i buy it;-)
cheers

Give me some time on that. I think you can but if we enable such an option it will be nice the user to be able to add a list with the most comon apps he wants to kill and restart.

There are new features coming such us Global shutdown, restart, wake, new dark UI, and node Grouping. (like Maxwell farm, Real Flow Farm etc etc)

I am glad you like it and we will do our best to add your wish to a future realease.

Thank you,
Andronikos
