Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

as asked in this thread: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... p?p=285407
It would be great to have a possibility to adjust the edge of the sun shadow and make it softer for example. in reality, the shadow isn't always hard, but gets quite soft on a foggy day. since we can already adjust the strenght of the sun, we should also be able to adjust its edge.

Adjusting the atmosphere perameters does soften the shadows. It does take some playing around with though.

I think you have to be a physicist who specializes in chemistry and light propagation through gases in order to understand the maxwell Sky system.

Yeah I'm a hater.

Solution is to turn of sun + set scattering asymmetry to higher values, it looks realy good, or to use hdri map

This is another thread that questions Maxwell's output.... I think some photos and tests should be made because
1. Maxwell atmosphere params are really too scientific for someone who justs wants to add some clouds or fog to the scene...
2. If Maxwell fails to give realistic shadows, it is more than serious...
3. I've seen great images from NL with the new sun/sky system so it is really difficult for me to question it's quality, it is easier to have doubts about me knowing how to use it...

So far, what is really missing is real clouds... everything else is nice...
I have to say though, that MXSKY site has not the visitors and the uploaders I would expect... Maybe too many options for similar results.

I agree. I think some of the sky inputs could be turned to sliders with easier to understand labels for idiots/non-scientists like me. I don't know about everyone else, but I hardly ever use anything other than the default settings... It's a shame, because I have seen what the sky model can do.

Don't you know we're all testers?

So, is this a known issue?

Thanks a lot for your response, I will update and […]

did you tried luxCore?
