I was wondering 2-3 days ago, (off topic section) about new stuff coming from NL and why Nicole doesn't give us a newsletter.... Maybe there is nothing to write about or maybe the exact opposite... Something big is coming... Let's see...

yes we will see, ... personnally I would like to have a realtime reflection viewport ....very usefull for product designer to setup a scene for a product shot .... to have reflections precisely where we want, without test again and again to reach it.

About swap:

Fryrender wrote:Q.- Is there any quality loss when a material is swapped in fryrender SWAP?

A.- All the important features such as reflectance, color bleeding, glossy reflections, etc... are preserved. So even though the scene is not re-rendered, under all realistic scenarios, the differences between an actual unbiased re-render and the compositing made by fryrender SWAP will not be noticeable to the naked eye.
Aren't we unbiased freaks?

Our clients use naked eye to check our images, so it might be interesting to take a look! :)

Rickyx, I know you meant well, but please don't post fryrender links or cut and paste from their forum. It is just fodder for more ridiculous comments from people who really should just stick to talking about Maxwell.

I think you don't understand either concept if you think they apply to anything I've said.

I wonder how many hours I've spent re-rendering just because of a material that didn't quite work the way I hoped it would...

congrats Fry.
