BTW, just the fact that the police showed up at the fair makes now this artist in front page... who would have know this guy otherwise....?

Is the entire system (economy, art.. I mean all..) totally perverted...

Are we living in a non-sense wold.. ?

Personaly, I'm done taking the world seriously from 20 years ago..

Quite a lot of people, actually. Research is not a four-letter word.

Negative publicity is still publicity, which can be turned into $$$. As long as there are people talking about this "art", then the objective has been accomplished.

Me, if I was there and saw that shit, I would probably turn around and leave. "Art" is tasteless I guess.

I don't like Kulik's work much either, but I acknowledge his right to make this kind of stuff. Hey, if Britney's allowed to churn out tasteless crap, so is our boy Oleg!

Come to think of it, he's not even good at being tasteless - the Chapmans do 'tasteless' much better. They got the sense of humour Kulik sorely lacks.

Oh well.

What a tard...
I'm fairly certain the last title should be "I Bite America And America Bites Me". It kinda rung a bell. Must be a Beuys reference.

Whenever people 'doubt' the artistic merit of a certain artist, and go "pah! crap!", I go: sure, but he doesn't work in an office for an average pay.

That works.

Oh, much better...

I would much prefer to work in an office for average pay and keep my dignity and personal integrity, but that's just me...

I think the difference is I have a skill that most people don't have, as do most of the people on this forum. This guy, what is his skill? Can he do things that others can't? No. Even my 2 year old daughter is pretty good at crawling around on the floor pretending to be a dog, I think most people could do that, no skill involved, just an imagination. But most people also have the common sense not to do it in public and call it art.

Don't get me wrong, I would not tell him he can't do it. Everyone should have the right to make an ass of themselves and even try to profit from it. I'm just saying, anyone with a bit of taste would probably not give him a second thought, except maybe a psychiatrist.

nothing new.. that was alreay the motto of Malcolm Mc Laren in 1977.. (ex Sex Pistols manager)

"good or bad.. as long as you are in the media, that's all that count.."

good point ..

.. although that does not make him an artist.. more like Paris Hilton in fact.. I mean if $$$ is the goal.. otherwise.. pointless..

I'm not trying to defend Kulik (if I had the money to buy art, I wouldn't buy his - I'd buy a nice Manfred Pernice sculpture, or a Koen van den Broek painting ), but your comparison isn't completely correct. I'm sure your daughter can crawl likes the best, but I'm fairly certain she doesn't have what it takes to get rich off of it. Again, not defending Kulik. Merely pointing out a flaw in your comparison. :)
