Certainly out of your price range, but i can't resist to mention the new Canon EOS 5D Mark II. I'm really not a specialist in photography, but this new model looks amazing... 21 mega pixel sensor, HD video (1920 x 1080) at 30 frame/sec... For this price you get one of the best camera and video camera on the market.

That video looks a lot smoother than the d90's 24 f/s video.

The D90 is only 720p HD the 5D is 1080p HD 30fps

thanks for the links - the video looks really incredible. wow.

as mentioned i WAS (or better) am still thinking about the canon EOS 5d mark II. it is much money, but not expensive, if you know what i mean.

and i have some lenses back from the old times which i could use as a start with this one. (full frame CMOS )
