See the below benchmark of Intel's new chip (called Core i7)

http://news.mydrivers.com/1/114/114508.htm

I don't know chinese language, if someone can read this, please translate it.

but anyway, I've heard that from other site,

The cinebench result of a Intel's Nehalem(Core I7) 3.2G is 45,800

Whereas, the score of a QX9770 3.2G is only 12,000

Can we trust it?

Maybe it is real but I am fairly sure it is on a dual socket Nehalem if it is.

I saw a Cinebench run on a single socket Nehalem system and I'm sure CB only showed 4 lines being rendered where this screenshot shows 8.

I also recently saw a CB of a single 2.93GHz Nehalem and it only scored a CB of 16500 in 64bit.

So, if this is real then it must be a dual socket but even then it seems too high if the clock really is 3.2GHz.

Hmmm....

Yes we should probably call Nehalem i7 as that is what it will be known as.

Still don't believe your link is 8 thread and 4 cores ! I think it is double that.

Contrast with this link from the same site

http://news.mydrivers.com/1/114/114297.htm

This show the CB of a 2.93GHz of 'only' 16500. All other benchmarks I have seen for i7 indicate about a 40% improvement over Penryn which this is consistent with.

So who knows ! I want one though !!
