Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

I do "last minute" arch vis as well and I don't understand the problem you guys are having with the alphas the way they are…if you're replacing the background anyway, then why do you need the maxwell background?

EDIT: couldn't you modify your procedure to use "object ids" in order to get a clipping path for Photoshop instead of the alpha?

We are not always replacing the backround. Most times our client decides in the last moment to replace the maxwell sky with a different one simply because they are used to have this flexibility.

I must admit I always replace the maxwell sky but in a blended mode so that I can better match the maxwell physical sky for correct lighting.

And I must say at times when I have used the alpha option I get frustrated due to the fact that I have no sky in reference when using multilight. I find it hard to get the lighting right and then I have no sky reference in PS to help me quickly determine the setting for my new imported sky!

So these days I have to be honest I just output the material ID and pick out the alpha by hand - never as good but I've grown to live with this.

I know using alpha would allow me a better outline result but then I'm farting around with too much trial and error on the other stuff.

I will say I beg for just the option and allow the user to determine what is best for him!!!!

Ok I'll have a whinge! I often find the sentiments of the developers here to keep EVERYTHING at it's best and most physically correct and it then I find causes users to look at work arounds!

I hope one day I will go down in history in the digital world and be often quoted on this:

"Work arounds are simply proof that something is broken!" Richard Jeffrey 2008.

So, is this a known issue?

Thanks a lot for your response, I will update and […]

did you tried luxCore?
