When assigning materials (mxm) that have been downloaded, Maxwell Studio warns when the texture cannot be found allowing the user to reassign a new texture - browse to new texture folder, etc.

On texturing in 3ds Max plugin, this warning doesn't seem to occur (for me at least).

Am I correct in assuming that I must use MXED or Studio to setup each mxm with its corresponding texture before using the plugin approach to texturing?
Or is there a way to have 3ds Max signal that the texture as set in the newly downloaded mxm is needing reassignment?

Thanks for any help given on this one :D

3dsmax will warn you from every path lost and lets you specify them. Also it will look at the place where the file you are working on is located. Besides it will look for files at the paths you define at Customize>Configure User Paths>External files.
