Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

I would really love it if there was some file type interoperability with Maxwell Studio and PRO/Engineer. Even if it was just from an IGES file or STEP file, I would be delighted!!

I second that! Imho the export from pro to obj or igs files makes the reder scenes waaaay to heavy, especially if you would like to render for example a whole industrial vehicle interior where detail and small components are absolutely required to give a real like impression.
In general the issue remains that imported models from pro engineer in obj or stl are imported with a scale factor I still don't understand. A pro model which is for example 20mm becomes almost 20 meters in maxwell, making it necessary to scale all the imports with an average of 0.01 or even 0.001. If you do this and start moving around your imports and in the end have forgotten something, its a whole challenge to get this freshly imported part at the correct position. I tried the import scale under preferences but it has no influence. (have you got the same problem farazshah?)

Thanks,
Nick

We use ProE in our company and usually the guys who use it, will export
IGES from ProE and I open them in Solidworks or 3ds max.
IGES in 3ds max is über heavy and I prefer Solidworks with it.
Maxwell rules because I can use it in both programs.

A plug-in for Pro-E would be the ultimate. The Lightwave based Advanced Rendering Extension is miles behind Maxwell in terms of quality and function, it is also over twice the price! I currently export as .obj directly into Maxwell studio. There is not currently functionally in either program for uv unwrapping so materials such as carbon fibre do not flow correctly over certain geometry.

So, is this a known issue?

Thanks a lot for your response, I will update and […]

did you tried luxCore?
