Hi,

I've tried to render a shadow pass (M~R 1.7, OSX 10.5.4) for the scene below to have more possibilities when it comes to composing our logo into different backgrounds.

Image

For that I needed the shadow pass but it comes out full of noise. Tried it in Studio and Maxwell Render, results are identical. The scene consists of 2 objects and an emitter object. Materials are nothing fancy.

The four images are from different sampling levels. As you can see it get's worse over time.

Any hints what I'm doing wrong here?

It does seem to get worse, but I'm not sure. What sample level have you gotten it to?

The last image (bottom right corner) is SL7. As the SL rises the image becomes more and more white until there're no spots anymore and you end up with a completely white image.

What? that's very strange. Sorry, I've never seen it happen before. And still, there is a shadow, that's obvious in the first image.
