hi all, thanks for your support!
I've created some confusion here, sorry about that.

As I've explained above, the testing version I'm using saves mxm-files that are incompatible with the version of maxwell that most users have. the advice from NL is of course not to use this versions in public before release - which I forgot when creating my last handful of materials... So "take a lower profile" was just my own description of how to continue testing this version(s).

I can of course install and use several versions, and continue the "testlab", but since I have the feeling I were messing things up a bit, and also because i'll be busy (travelling) the next few weeks - I decided to make break here.

but I'll be back!
