No,
it will not run in Ubuntu 32bit.

Maxwell for linux is only for linux64bit,
so you need 64bit AMD/Intel processor AND Ubuntu 64bit (or any other linuxDistro).

Thank you. Sorry for the stupid question, but I just wanted to be sure. That saved me a lot of time. I'll try to set it up on one of our 64 bit machines.
