Probably in a future render of this Fokker Dr1 there will be some gun muzzle flashes so I've made a set including the alpha map. If these are of use to anyone then please feel free to use them.

def4D: Thank you.

Finally got around to working on the Fokkers' fuselage. I've decided that the cockpit interior will be included into the fuselage texture map. Some more cockpit parts to be made but the compass is representative of the medium level of detail to be included.

Another work in progress gets transferred over to my newish computer. I last worked on this Fokker Dr1 when the Maxwell Render Cinema4D plugin was at an earlier version and have ended up sorting out some issues with the Maxwell materials being used.

Used this preview to see how the Alpha imaged worked when composited with a sky photo.

Now it renders ok I can carry on with finishing of the fuselage.

The first new part of this revived project is a gunsight - mostly just a collection of Cinema4D primitives welded together. Non functional front and rear optic lens are included. Plain Maxwell materials used. No texture maps yet but the material does include a small percentage layer of chrome IOR data to enhance the finish.

For each bit added it seems as though another two are required. This is slow progress! Aiming to soon complete the fuselage so that it can get painted. In the meantime I've been trying out some different lighting and I like this one for a future proper render - low sun and with a highlight at the front of each wing.

I recently found some reference material giving a clearer and more accurate view of the lower front front fuselage. So, the lower front has been reshaped, the engine firewall wrapped underneath the front and seperate panel with a working inspection panel added.

Adding these new bits finally allowed me to fix the front undercarriage 'struts' into place and add the bracing wires. Getting there slowly!

Used this preview to try out some revised motion blur settings on the airscrew and rotary engine.

Bubbaloo: Thank you. With those new bits added i hope to be able to start uv mapping and texturing the fuselage sometime next week. Weathering and dirt to be added once all the basic texturing is done.

Tyrone Marshall: Thank you too. The latest preview was rendered with Maxwell 1.7.

So, is this a known issue?
